Went to a steam show

And forgot the camera

Chris and I took the grandkids to a Steam engine show.I have always enjoyed taking a step back in time and seeing how the world evolved,I thought the kids would enjoy it also.Man was I wrong.

Coal smoke filled the air and the smell of sulfur was heavy but ya still gotta love it,seeing these big machines in motion. Watched the antique tractor pull for a while then I finally told Chris we need to go and I was ready when she was.My eyes were watering and I couldn't hardly breath,my throat was burning.The smoke had taken its toll on me,how could this be.I grew up around this stuff heated the house with coal,worked in the coal mines for a few years

There is another steam show coming up in Aug and I will be at that and put my body through hell one more time this year and hope to take the camera along

Your body couldnt take it probably cause your so young and un seasoned Bill.

I think I'd like a show like that also, but not if I had to choke to stay alive during it.

Sounds like fun Bill. I live with a steam engine though. All I have to do is open my mouth, she get's steamed and starts choking me. Same result just a little different process.

When I was a kid our family used to have their family reunion at a steam thrashing show and grandpa used to give us rides on the steam engines.
