No....but I wonder how it works.
I wonder what it'd do to a living room too, say down below the Mason Dixon line where 105 degrees Fahrenheit in the shade is a beautiful day to them.

You live in Canada & you're concerned about keeping things cool? :doh2:

Jim while I was in Australia the place I stayed at had an outside cement block building that used a window air conditioner to keep it cool [38F].   I was not smart enough to learn how they had rigged it :doh2: but it got up to 129F there and it worked.
vvarmitr we do have some heat too :laf:. It would be nice to have a cool room so I could butcher earlier in the year as to hang a beef for 18 days and hope the weather holds just isn't a sure thing ever up here.  I'd also need a heater in the cool room to keep it from freezing.
I was wondering if anyone here had something like this.  About a third the price of a big set up and they claim a power saving of up to 60%.  Simple to set up and I don't have to resolder the joints after two weeks cause all the coolant leaked out from the first attempt. :iroll:

Seems like a good idea. I know of people around here that have built walk-in coolers for hanging deer and they used window unit air-conditioners. Our secretary's BIL has done this and says it works good...and we live 15 minutes below the Mason Dixon line. I'm not sure how he got it to go below 60 degrees though.  I figger if Cool Bot  is all it is hyped up to be, it could only make it simpler and probably more reliable.

It appears one of the main tricks is to use the air inside the room. Most window units will bring in 100* air from the outside,, then cool it,, then blow it into the room while pulling the warmer,, at 1st,, air out & exhausting it. After a while of this the unit eventually starts pulling the cooled air out & exhausting it to the outside while reintroducing 100* air to the unit. If you can get the unit to exhaust the cold air back into the room & re-cool the air that is already in there you will get a lower temped air. I'm not sure how they got the 60* override figured out tho.  I aint be that smart man.  :nono: I would think the digital thermostat has a lot to do with that. Those might go much lower than a normal thermostat.

These are merely my thoughts which usually aren't worth the paper they're written on here!!!  :nono:

I think with a little help from a Friend in the refrigeration profession you could make something up cheaper & just as effective Barry!!!  :yoyo:

Thanks guys.  I sent this link to the fellow I went down and visited in Montana[Not 5shots] as I remembered he has about a million years of refrigeration experience.  He told me in no uncertain terms that if I was to buy it after what he told me that he would come up and kick me in the "donkey" :nofgr:.  I'm thinking the price is right for a visit but I have lost all interest in the bot now.

well yeah all the more it should do is change the thermostat.  but your gonna need a pretty serious window unit to cool a room.  this guy changed his shed into his brew room.  http://www.mrmalty.com/brewstuff.php he uses it as a storage area for homebrew.  now you need to figure this fella is one of the biggest names in homebrewing but it shows his walk in cooler that he uses a window unit for the cooling portion.  and he lives in cali somewhere.

I saw these advertised in a hunting magazine.  Seemed alittle pricey?  But what do I know.
http://www.ktcoolers.com  Sure would come in handy.

Dave that was a "cool" site.  I need heat almost as much as cool up here and being cheap I'll have to improvise a little.
bigben that is what my friend Ed said pretty much.  Just a thermostat but wouldn't help with frost build up or anything else for that matter.
