My calling partner for the last 15 years took this 140 pound lion out in the scrub desert land.  One shot .223 55gr Hornady, ran about forty yards and died.   Came in a very few seconds after turning on the caller, jackrabbit in distress.  I was not with him and will forever hold it against him!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great pic! That ket is the same color as the dirt, must be hard to spot!

Cool!  Probably a lot more of those cats around then folks realize.  Man, they really blend in with their surroundings as Nasty mentioned.

Very cool!

They are extremely hard to see out in the flats if they are sneaking in, my buddy said this one came in running.  Normally when we kill a lion out in the flats it's a young one kicked out of one mountain range and looking to establish a home range.  The mountains in the background are the Whetstones and they hold a good population of mule deer what this big guy was doing in the flats escapes all logic.  If he was kicked out I sure would like to see the Tom that whipped him.

Like I said he and I been calling partners for 15 years, I know what he's going to do on stand before he does it and vise-versa.  He came directly to our house from this stand and when Marge opened the door he said "boy is John going to be pissed off."

It is hard to believe, but we have killed treed ones with 22's.

Yes it is Jerry, but a little stupidity also helps.

WTG!  You must have taught your partner well.

That's a big lion in our part of the world.
