A friend who is a professional chef invited us for supper the other evening. She has a special ceramic barbecue, fired with alder wood, the main wood used for smoking salmon on the west coast. That is a large platter in the photo above, not a regular plate. The salmon looked great and tasted better, cooked to perfection, moist and barely done.

Blacktail deer are often in the yard outside under the fir trees.
Every dish was superb. Below is some kind of veggies mix with potatoes, tasted terrific. I snapped a few pics while the food was starting to come to the table.

Man, that looks mighty tasty! Sockeye is my favorite salmon. Yum!
I also am a connoisseur of fine blackberry cobbler. The wife brought back a big bucket full of blackberries from her last pickin'. (she also picked a few chiggers too :laf: )
