The 2011 Northwest Nationals (Hosted By The Idaho Varmint Hunters, Inc.) are now in the history books.
The NNCCC Administration would like to extend a heartfelt Thank you to all that registered & participated in the Northwest Nationals.
There were 15 teams registered (Representing 5 Western States).
THE WINNERS ARE:
1st Place; Layne Bangerter & James Lakey - 18 coyotes.
2nd Place; Ron Talbot & Wes Allison - 16 coyotes
3rd Place; Dustin Butler & Travis Osmond - 9 coyotes
Totals for the weekend: 200 coyotes sighted - 81 coyotes were turned in at weigh-in. Man what a pile of dogs!!!!!
It seemed everyone had a great time. They met and talked to old friends and made new friends. We had a good dinner, door prizes, raffles, auctions for an Olympic Arms AR15 & a Western Rivers Nite Stalker eCaller, but more importanly we had great conversation & fellowship.

For the next 2 years the Northwest Nationals will be hosted in Billings Montana.
That is a pile of coyotes. There's some counties up here that wont even see that many deer harvested this year.
Speaking for myself, I'm not much for the coyote hunting for profit, promotion, or commercial use. On such a large scale. Personally I feel it invites unethical and illegal methods, all for the sake of recognition. But I do admire the comradry that rises off of it all as the boil slows to a simmer during the event.
Just one mans take on it. :shrug:
With that said, I do sincerely appreciate you posting the results. Which are interesting and informing both, as it does look like a good time was had by all. Even recognized some names.
