Sweet vest for sure.

Heck, half the fun of hunting is getting ready. New vest, new calls, patterning new shells, new camo hat, scouting, talking about it, etc. I should get a vest. I have a nylon belt that has a day pack bag on each side and a seat haning from the back. When I set up, I dig everything out; slate call, box call, push buton call, copper call, headnet, camo gloves, strikers. Then I put them in a semi circle around me and sit down. Takes forever, but I can't get into the bags too well while sitting on the ground.

There are other vests out there for a lot less money. With that comes less organization tho. My 1st vest had pockets VS the pouches for the individual calls. It sucks trying to drag a box call out of a pocket. The strikers ended up in the bottom of the pockets too. Now it's all organized where I can find it when I need it without any hassle. There's nothing wrong with any of the vests. It all boils down to personal preference. My Brother has killed gobblers with a shotgun, slate call & a striker.  It don't get much more basic than that unless you ambush em over a feeder in the AM.

The Toms were struttin & gobblin their fool heads off this AM everywhere we went!!! The hens were chasing them around!! We seen 4 Toms & heard two others gobbling. Also 2 Jakes were fanning but not gobbling. Hens everywhere & they kept the Toms gobbling as they travelled thru the woods in search of them.  Today was the 1st AM that it was decent enough to get out & scout. The rest of the weekends ahve been rainy, windy or both. This AM was a cool crisp 32.6* when we left the house & the Toms were on fire!!  :eyebrow:

I aint gonna be worth a damn at work for the next 2 weeks now.

Yeap Chris and I went for a walk last evening just before sundown and we could hear some toms
off in the distance and got to see one fly up to the roost

The bad part about that is I am not allowed to hunt there I can walk around there but can't hunt it  :rolleye:

I think if I could get a more expierenced turkey caller to hunt with me we could call them off there

All the Toms today were out of bounds for me too Bill. Just keep an eye on them. A lot can happen in two weeks. They just might be looking for more hens by then in your area. I will help you out if I can but as usual,, no promises. Maybe Al can make it up this way. You do the scouting & he'll do the calling. Let us know.

I seen another nice Tom this afternoon & two more huge ones. Plus I just got permission to hunt there for groundhogs, coyotes crows. I have to wait & see about the turkeys tho. If there are other hunters there already I don't want to show up & torque somebody off with a turkey choke in a 12ga.
