Title: Flextone's new ECHO
Post by: FinsnFur on March 05, 2011, 09:57:46 PM
Man these things must be selling like hotcakes! Everyone is sold out.
I've wondered about them, almost bought one, but continue to watch.
Did someone finally blow the whistle on these other call makers charging 500% mark up and then Flextone sweeps in on a more realistic level to undermine them or what?  :innocentwhistle: :laf:

Averaging $140 buck for these things, loaded with 100 sounds...seriously? And I see Wildlife Technologies has them listed for $116.00 now but you have to back order it.

With the 24 sound Foxpro Spitfire going for $199, the Flextone Echo HD eR1 blows it away with its 100 sounds (90+ are from Wildlife Technologies) and way lower price tag.

They are sold out for a good reason.

There's a few guys on Predator Caller Central that have been using them and they've got nothing bad to say about them either.
I'm pretty seriously thinking about picking one up. At WT's sale price of $116 it's like a guy in the market would be crazy not to.

So I have a Flextone Echo on the way for $119.00  :yoyo:...how you might ask?...Cabelas, and about 2 hours of phone time...here the 411...if you go on the web site..alot of times stuff is listed as out of stock, back ordered, etc...but that is for the catalogue!!..if you actually look up the individual store numbers and call them..and get an employee who isnt useless, often the store will have the item in stock!!..I called the Maine store..guy didnt have a clue said hed check n call me back...HE NEVER DID, YOU SUCK CABELAS MAINE !!! :argh:...next closest store I call is in Conn. so I call this very helpful fellow named Steve Finch checked said they did not have it but he would check the other stores inventory for me which he did, and told me that RENO,NEVADA, GONZALES, LOUISIANA, GLENDALE,ARIZONA, and BILLINGS, MONTANA, showed the Flextone in stock...I called Billings,Montana, they had 1 unit left, I BOUGHT IT FOR 119.00  :yoyo:...anyone looking for one try the other listed places quick ..and I called the Conn. store back and asked for the CS manager and told them how helpful Steve Finch was and how he hooked me up and was told he would definiteley be commended for his effort, which is good !!

How satisfied are you buyers with the sound quality. Particularly the volume. Is it louder than a spitfire?. Can you isolate 5-6 sounds and not have to scroll thru the whole list? What kind of warranty do you get?

I just had to switch over to my echo from my fx3 as the fx3 batteries finally died for good...not as loud but still hauled the crows in...much better remote also I think.

I have one Jim, too bad we do not live closer.(eastern Waukesha co. right next door (kinda) to some guy named Walker )
I got mine off Amazon for $116 with free shipping last winter.
I like it, seems to have enough volume for me. I did send an email to the company with some suggestions but never heard back.
I would like to add some of my own sounds, would prefer a red back light for the remote and I do not really need the handle. For my first ecaller I am happy with it.

First the State park, and now Cabelas?...you were all over down here werent you :laf:
I was fishing in Prairie all day today. I probably crossed your path a few times as I drove from one spot to another.

I was even in Cabela's. Got there around 12:15 and out by 12:50... I spose you were there at the same time. :doh2:

Oh and..I got a real good deal on a Flextone from a member here a couple weeks ago. There was no way I could pass it up.
I havent had it out calling yet but I like the way it looks feels and works so far.

We left there around 1:30 yesterday afternoon.  We stopped at the shop by the visitors center that sells all the smoked turtle, frog, perch and other stuff. I liked the article from the paper there about the 9'9.5" 497 lb alligator gar fish that was 'caught' in the area. Great April 1 story  :alscalls:

First time camping there but will be back next year. If it is at the same time of the year I will be bringing hard hats for everyone, there were so many acorns falling ( I took an average count one nite and they were falling 1 every 5 sec.  :nono:)

I just added a piece of paracord to hang the Flextone from a branch to get it off the ground and it keeps the metal rings quiet too andI like the ability to switch the speakers around. :yoyo:

They could sell more than they could make at the old price so they raise the price to put demand in line with the supply.   Marketing 101.  At least that is my theory anyways.   :readthis:

But now they are in the same price ball park as the new Foxpro Wildfire.  Foxpro is the better unit for the money, me thinks.
