Wow!  "a fifteen mile hike back to the house".....that makes the LBL look kinda like hunting in one's back yard.   Sure is lots of territory to wander around in up there, John.    Stay safe and take no unnecessary chances.   

Did ya ever look in to that GPS locating device SPOT....  http://findmespot.com/en/   I was wondering what you thought of it...good or bad.

That's gotta be a nice sense of accomplishment "breaking through"
and having that valley  there in front of ya.
