My deer story.

Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm 11 years old.  I got a 6 point which was supposed to be an 8 point but it got tangled up in some deer fence and broke it's antler, or so it looks.
Well i was in one of my favorite places this year, a horse farm when i shot my 3rd buck. I love horses and hunting so a 2 in 1 is awesome for me!
My Dad's friend calls me 'lightning in a bottle' because the last two years i got both of my bucks within 40 minutes total! This year no bucks came the first day, so we went out the following Wednesday to the horse farm. We hunted in a three sided shed in the middle of the pasture. About 2 hours had passed when we saw him. The horses had trotted in a frightened way across the field, so Dad knew there was something out there. Dad had snuck a peek out the side and there he was! About a 1/2 hour later, I took a look and he had jumped the fence and was in our pasture. After that i got excited. I couldn't help but peek out the side every few minutes. As soon as it started to move closer, Dad told me to sit down and stay quiet. He gets so shakey whenever im at the gun because hes happy for me (not of being scared that I would lose control of the gun/bow). Just a few minutes later he came into view at the cross-bow. I aimed and pulled the trigger delicately and he sprinted down the field and out of sight over a small hill. We thought he fell over, but weren't sure. It was getting dark so we walked over the top of the hill and found him exactly where we thought he was. We drug him to the woods and gutted him.  Then Dad snapped a few pictures and threw him in the trunk. When i got home my little brother, Dante, gave me a big hug. He hadn't gotten his deer yet. I was so happy and we would be having the 6 point for dinner one night!

Rosana

Hi, my name is Rosana. I am nine years old. My dad took me hunting over at my grandpa's farm in Bearsville, WV. This was the first time that I went hunting that I carried a gun. It was my dad's AR-15. We put up a pop up blind and waited about 45 minutes. I had trouble holding the gun up for very long, so my dad made me some shooting sticks out of tree limbs and tape. My dad was costantly looking out of the flap of the blind. Finally he moved toward me and said there was a doe. I shifted my gun on the shooting sticks and looked in my scope. I found her in the scope by leaning over on my dad. I put the cross hairs on her shoulder and "BAM" it hit her. she tried to run but only went a couple of feet, fell to the ground, kicked, then she lay still. That was my first deer and I was so excited I was shaking.

Here is my deer and me.

Thank you for looking and the chance to be in the contest
