Necks get broken!!  :yoyo: :yoyo:

I was pulling into a hay field this afternoon when this hog popped up. It was too late for me to stop so I just aimed the truck for the shade & rolled into place. He went down & this was my opportunity to grab the FireBall & get the clip loaded, set up my chair & shooting sticks,, since I don't carry a deck out in the fields to shoot from  :innocentwhistle:  :laf: & proceeded to wait him out in the shade. I got done early at work due to the rain so I still had a bologna samwich & a pop left so I got settled in. It took this fella a little longer than usual to pop back up & after playing hide & seek for about 10 minutes he finally stood halfway up. That was when I lit the fire under that 50gr BlitzKing & he never knew what broke his neck.  :nono: :nono:   :yoyo: :yoyo:

Nice 10'ish lb male.

:doh2:  165yds.

Glen,

Is he sleeping?  Did that Fireball rock him to sleep?

Now that's what I'm talking about! :highclap:  But you really ought to consider hauling a deck around with you on your hog hunting forays?  LOL!
Here's hoping that we'll see alot more hog hunting photos from the HaMer crew.  I'm surprised Diane let you do the trigger pulling on this one? :wo:  I guess she has to allow you some confidence building exercises. :laf:

HaMeR

It rocked him to sleep alright Jerry!! For a long long time too.  :eyebrownod: :eyebrownod:

Hey Dave I think I'll pass on the deck idea.  :laf: :laf: Diane didn't have a choice in the matter. I'm the man so I'm the boss applies here!!  :yoyo: :yoyo:

You can't kill 'em from the recliner!!

HaMeR

Thanks Jim.

We went back out this afternoon & Diane was doing the squeezing this time. She shot Momma & her youngun about 6' apart within about 40 minutes of each other. The hay was taller than the little one & all we could see was a little patch of it's head. I told her to hold in the grass & fire it up!! Boy did she ever!!  :yoyo: :yoyo:
Both shots were 95yds.
These could be a bit graphic.

Close up of the little one. The FireBall is a round to be reckoned with.

My hawk pic. 200yds away. Off hand & I was using up all 15x of the zoom.  :laf:

We had company waiting for us when we got home this evening.  :laf: :laf:

Glen and Diane's excellent adventure!  That's some fine shooting there Diane.  If I was Glen, I'd be alittle nervous when it's his turn to shot. - That seasoned veteran hog shooter, looking over his shoulder...Pretty easy to develop a flinch under those circumstances.  Not that I would know anything about such folly. LOL!  Great hunt you two!

HaMeR

Thanks again Jim.

:nono: I don't worry about such things Dave. I take my misses in stride & move onto the next shot after a little coaching.  :laf: :laf:
