I put it in my post yesterday to make fellow a possible plural and it took me an hour to figure out what the "L" was going on. Doesn't do it on another site I visit

Clicking the button from the menu that has this

does exactly that. It's called strike through.

And clicking the one that has a

will underline the words.

These are UBB (Ultimate Bulletin Board) codes. The buttons up there do all this for you.
