Title: Gill's
Post by: riverboss on April 29, 2019, 06:05:06 PM
Got out last night for a few to see if the bite was on!
I got the fly rod and a small popper out, caught 9 in short order! Lost on small bass I guess it's time to get the grease hot.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190429/a35b4cacc63f884d034a430cccd37ec8.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190429/7c4fcf975c596dd5b34a68050ebd5d14.jpg)

Looks like fun, as kids we use to catch them by the bucket load.

Bluegills on flyrod poppers is just about one of my favorite types of fishing :yoyo:

Very nice!!
I'M JEALOUS! We are humping record flood stages down here.
Wouldnt be so bad if the sun would at least shine I could catch some fish in the flood water.  :eyebrow:

They are a blast to catch on the fly rod!
I have cleaned my share over the yrs, usually it was by the bucket full at a time.

Jim I sure hope things improve on your fishing grounds.
I bet your a basket case over it.

Love those gills on an ultralight and 4

Still trying to learn the fly rod thing

I fish barefoot just like Huck finn, plus my claws I mean toenails dig in to the bottom for good gripping power  :innocentwhistle:

Reminds me of an old Country Western song "Cut Your Toenails Nelly There Ripping The Bed Sheets."

Those toenails saved my life once when I dove onto a water bed covered with silk sheets one night  in Subic Bay in the Philippines  :innocentwhistle: :yoyo:  :alscalls: :alscalls:

Ever been there Mr. JohnP ?

I wish it would dry up enough to get the wife down the hill so she could catch some!
She loves to fish but doesn't look like the weather is going to ever let up.

Spent a little time in the Philippines, it was mainly used by my unit as a jumping off point for other exotic places.  When there we were primarily in a seclusion mode waiting for further "instructions".  Good beer San Miguel.
