This Black walnut tree has been here in Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania I’m guessing for at least 80 years? Its stands stoically at the edge of my property. A silent testimony of an old fence line bracketing a cow pasture long since gone. I’ve kept a close eye on this branch for over 18 years. More out of concern that it would someday come crashing to the ground! Well, part of its destiny has been fulfilled. The other day I noticed it hanging like a child’s seesaw, wedged between two Hackberry trees. So I fired up the chainsaw and removed the offending widow maker. Bucked up in small chunks on the ground it did not look so ominous. There, amidst the predominantly decayed lengths, I noticed some sound wood. “Hmmm?†I thought? “Might just be enough for a decent call?â€

A simple Black walnut call, turned from a small portion of a branch. Which who could only dream would end up as a game call? Has its destiny been fulfilled? Not yet!
Being that we’re contemplating “destinyâ€. I am donating this call to the Fins and Fur family for auction. All proceeds will go to the FnF Members Bank. In the end, it will serve all my friends here. And that’s a fine destiny!
So let’s run this auction till Friday, November 19th, 9PM Eastern Time. I’ll start it off at $5.00 opening bid. Wishing you all the best!

Good grab Steve and a thank you to both for helping out on the funds side of this site. If it were not for your unselfish ways the contests would be a mite lacking for something.
You got a darn nice call Steve!! Congratulations!!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
Good grab. Wonderful call Dave. I'm sorry I didn't look sooner. You and I were just talking about it the other night on the phone and knew it was going to show up, but I missed it. I'm so sorry.
Barry. I know you got some bad feelings toward me right now and I can live with that. However, you said Steve had some unselfish ways, which is true, but you are one of the most unselfish people I have seen on this board. I was always amazed by how willing you were to help others. Speaks highly of your character.
Well, for what it's worth, there ya go.
Barry is one heck of a nice guy  he will definatley make you smile  a good guy to be around and he has some funny stories  like to visit him someday so he could show me how to hunt coyotes
OK you FnClowns this thread ain't about me :argh:. It's about some truly great people and it should stay that way. :readthis: Steve was the first to hand me a present at the LBL and it was one of them great ones that kept on giving as I had a ball with it at the border cause our custom agents are so stupid that they think all ales contain alcohol :doh2:. Dave has been doing this since I got here and I can't say enough good about him either. :whew:
