My name is AL Collins, I grew up in west central West Virginia.
At age 14 I got my work permit and started making a living..... trapping and catching snakes on the side for more money.
In 1987 I moved to North eastern Ohio and became a part time steel head and turkey guide in my spare time.....I moved back to WV in 2000.
I have been a hunter all of my life, I am 43 years old and have been making turkey calls since about 1991 I was introduced to Coyote hunting around that same time but the numbers were low. I have been after the coyote since I returned to WV pretty hard......and the only numbers that are low now are mine :laf:
I also write songs and play guitar........though I have never known what to do with the songs after I write them. I have been making Coyote calls for almost two years now and deer calls for four. I have been selling them on the net for about a year and I have learned more from the folks on this board than I ever dreamed I could....thanks to all of ya!

You guys are great, thanks for all the nice comments......
I have been making some kind of call or another for many years and just got into this turning thing.....
Most of my work over the years has been by hand and labor intensive....
I do not make many of these anymore and probably wont in the future.....my eyes are leaving me to do other things so I will share a couple from the past and say to all my friends here thanks for putting up with me.

Great job on those calls Al
Alright guys and gals.
Lord permitting, I'm going to try and make time to put this all together and do a drawing tomorrow.
I know we normally end these at the beginning of the following month. Sorry about the delay. Getting things set up and then making finishing touches on this new server has taken up a lot of my time the last week or so.
As with the others, winner will be posted in this thread.
QuoteI'm starting to understand Todd now.
Please fill me in Barry, cause I sure can't figure him out. :wo:

OK!... some history for some of the newer members. The Fins and Fur Callmakers Showcase is a little a shindig for custom call makers to gain some exposure, announce their presence, and give some background on themselves and or their business.
They take on the Showcase of the Month label, and post a call that they are donating for the cause, along with a little bio on themselves, or again their business.
Anyone that posts a reply in that showcase, within the current month, is automatically entered into a drawing.
The drawings are filmed at the end of the month, and a winner announced.
The winner receives the call being showed by the Showcased Callmaker.
And Nnnnnnnnnow! the winner of the Alscalls March 2009 Showcase is.........
:eyebrow: Oh yea..ya gotta watch the video to find out :laf:
But first let me say that I accidentally put Bill in there twice. But once you watch the video you'll see how and why I did that. And if he would came up the winner, I would have re-drawed because of it.

I was laughin pretty good watching that later in the clip.
The cat's like..."ey? what are you guys putting in there. Ehhhh I gotta get me one of them and see what that stuff is."
Kyles dropping the names in the bucket poking the cat with each drop in the bucket until he finally gives up and leaves :roflmao:
Hey that's me! :yoyo: :yahoo: :thumb2:
I'd like to Thank everyone involved, especially Al
for donating the call, and emphasize that there
was NO under the table money between me and the cat. :eyebrow:

I decided to change yours to Bacon Nut and take out the one that says Bill, but forgot to take the other out. :doh2:
Congrats Scott :yoyo:
