Title: Drug runnin
Post by: FinsnFur on March 15, 2007, 08:53:06 PM
I dont know if this is true or not.....got e-mailed to me from an old acquaintance.

Here's the latest drug runner from some European nut-cases.   This thing belted across the English channel 3 times per week and was just a blur on the British coast guard radar.
They were so blown away by the speed of the thing that they brought in a  specialized chopper to catch it!  And catch it they did.
What was on board?  300 kg of pure cocaine!

I've seen some of the hard shell boats these cats use. Real similar to the set ups used in boat racing, and it IS TOUGH to keep the wind going over the bow of those.
SO if this thing shot across the English channel at break neck speeds, enough to spin heads on the English coast guard...what the heck kept it from going air born?.....especially since its a dang raft!

That would have been my guess too.  600 + pounds of coke, there had to be a couple big burly guys with more firepower and ammo than the entire British Navy.  I'm more suprised it didn't sink.

But seriously, what's the best that thing could do?  60 knots?   A little cessna makes 100 knots.    Wouldn't take a special helo to catch that thing.  The heat signature from those engines would be one heck of a traget.

Might make a nice fishing boat though.   No worry about getting back to the weigh in on time :)
