I've found myself addicted to sunflower seeds.  I'm like a bird, I crave these dang things all the time now  :eyebrownod:  I've found the David Seeds to have the best flavor.
Not sure how well ya can blow a call with a mouthful  :nono:
eat, spit, be happy  :roflmao:

alscalls

Dont take em turkey hunting with ya..... :nofgr: Makes it hard to use a mouth call. :eyebrownod:

Enjoy 'em while you got teeth as they kinda lose there appeal with the loss of an opener.  I've ate bushels and bushels of the dang things and I do believe the ones we roasted ourselves were better than store bought.
I say what I think not think what I say.

Sounds like somebody's coaching little league. I ate a peck or two of the things last year.

I never could get the hang of opening the dang things with my teeth.    :nono:

why not just get the ones that are already shelled? they cost a little more i know but you aint gotta worry bout having black and ahite striped chompers when ya smile, lol.

And just what would you spit then. Spitz are the best.

I ate them by the bag full when I was trying to get off the Cope. Ended up having a mouth as raw as hamburger from all the salt, at the end of the day.

I still enjoy them from time to time, but in moderation :eyebrownod:

I used to buy them by the 50# bag....until everyones mouth was hamburger.  :doh2: I have since weaned myself. There is a place just south of Fargo, ND that sells them in 50# bags and they are so hot you have to rest on the way to the car.
sometimes I wonder....is that getting closer..... then it hits me

I had a personal conflict the other day, now I'm not speaking to myself.... I'm getting lonesome

I met the girl of my dreams, I was the man of her dreams too.....she used the term "nightmares" though.

seems to me they'd be the equivelant of popcorn from hell when it came to the shells, lol.

ive eaten them before but other than gettin the salt off the shells, i was unimpressed and spent half the day pickin shells outta my teeth, lol.

FinsnFur

Umm Cathrynn, your not suppose to eat the shells. :innocentwhistle:
Think of bananas, or say hickory nuts, or eggs. Same principle :laf:

So, the shredded shells that made it past your teeth and down the hatch, how'd they come out? Everything come out ok? :roflmao:

ewwwww! :doh2: I got a sliver in my butt

Ya might try swallowing them whole next time.   :nono:   :roflmao:

But I think I would follow FinsnFur's advice and just spit out the shells.   :eyebrownod:

I prefer the Giants brand myself. Bigger seeds and seems less salt.   I load up one cheek with them, and as I shell and eat them, the discarded shells go to the other cheek. I kinda look like chimp monk.

Silencer

I'll have to be on the lookout for the Giants brand.  The ranch and bbq flavors are terrible.  I'm an all natural seeder.

The fresh oven ones do sound great !!

Todd Rahm

Yeah, I did a comparison today too, the Giants seem bigger and thicker shelled (easer for crack'n) the the David's.
