Other then obvious things like the power switch, what would cause a trail cam to miss a shot?
I picked a couple up a while back at Cabelas as they were running a sale. Just to mess around with. I caught an 8 pointer walking down my street one afternoon around 3:00 :confused:.
I cant remember if I posted his pick on here or not. I couldnt find it so maybe I didnt. I still have it. Caught a Red fox in my back yard one night. I live in town...well a very rural low population town but still ya wouldnt expect deer and fox cutting through your yard.
I'm not sure if all the bucked up logs and split wood at my house attracted them via the smell or what.
Anywayyyy...I like to pop rabbits out my windows with the Crosman 1322 that nasty talked me into and I have never picked one up. Something always takes them during the night. Now that I caught a fox in my back yard I'm wondering if he's the one pleasuring on them :laf:
I had a dry spell, but finally whacked one the other day and decided to set the cameras up on the carcass. It went two days untouched and then it finally disappeared around 2 AM on the third night. Not a single picture was takin. I do not understand that :confused: What could possibly cause that? A ghost? :shrug:
I had pictures leading up to that time with the carcass in them, and I had pics after that time with the carcass gone.

Maybe the fox barreled thru & the camera didnt trigger fast enough or not at all. :shrug:
Next time you shoot a rabbit drive a stake in the ground and then wire it to the rabbit so whatever takes it has to work for it, that up your chances of slowing them down and to get a picture. It sounds to me like you may have a zombie rabbit problem :hahaha: :wink:

I wondered about frost on the lens.
My brother said frost dont accumulate on vertical surfaces so they should remain clear.

Or maybe a hawk or an eagle swept in from above and snatched it. I even had two cameras on it :shock2:
I got him!!
Popped another rabbit under the bird feeder last week. Left him out by the woodpile for days on end. Bound and determined to get a picture of whatever is pulling these rabbit carcasses off my lawn. This one said out there since last Wednesday (6 days).
I'd really been anticipating this day. Every day I come home I eagerly peek through the blinds to see if it's still there. Always quite discouraged that it's always there. Tonight was no different. Then while I was making supper around 4:30 I glanced out and it was gone. I absolutely could not believe it. I looked around the yard thinking something drug it but it was nowhere to be found. I ran outside, grabbed the camera, pulled the chip and this is what I found. What an awesome shot! Finally! [emoji41][emoji16]

That's only half of a woodpile nasty LOL Time to start filling her back in.
I never liked the piles of wood scattered around and the chips and bark all over from splitting for two months. So once I learned how to do this I keep doing it, and I keep the yard picked up around it, just looks so much nicer to me and it really isn't much more work.
You're looking at the ends of each row. I criss cross and build columns on the ends and then stack the wood in between them. That way I have no fence post or steaks or pallets holding shit together. And it's contained an easy to cover
