AP CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Dec. 17) -- Tennessee investigators say a 4-year-old boy was found roaming his neighborhood in the night, drinking beer and wearing a little girl's dress taken from under a neighbor's Christmas tree.

The child's mother, 21-year-old April Wright, tells WTVC-TV the boy "wants to go to jail because that's where his daddy is." Wright says she and the boy's father are going though a divorce.

The boy, found outside his house in Chatanooga on Tuesday, was taken to a hospital and treated for alcohol consumption.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Janice Atkinson says the incident is being investigated, but the department declined to release the report.

The boy's mother says she met with child protective services and was told she will get to keep custody of her son.

Do you think that under the circunstances the child should be left inthe custody of the mother?

The link wouldn't work for me .  I'm not much in favor of the government doing anything as they have proved without a doubt that they can screw up everything.
I say what I think not think what I say.

Same here. Link wouldn't work and I am not in favor of big brother doing anything. I do think this lady needs to keep a better handle on her kid though. I know it can be hard, because when the little buggers make up their mind to do something, they can be very slippery. In a suburban neighborhood, once they clear the door, they can disappear behind houses very quick like. At any rate, I believe a couple or three swats with a leather strap just might inhibit it from happening again.

Beat the kids ass & teach him right from wrong. It didn't hurt me PLUS I stay out of trouble. As for her,, her's will come around if she doesn't raise that boy right.

I think the mother needs to spend some time in the E-ward, beside have the child permanently removed from her custody.

I'm sorry but there isnt a four year old in this country that's able to reason with anything, let alone put two and two together and decide that what he's doing will land him in jail for a visit with his father.
The whole thing was staged, and his mother should pay severely.

I just watched the video and there is more to the story than what's in the text. The kid seemed to be doing more than his share of "amazing" things that the mother just couldn't figure out how he done them, at a time that most four year old kids are fast asleep whether they want to be or not. I mean come on. He broke the child guard off of the door knob, knew to get a beer, where the beer was kept, how to open it, and  knew which neighbor's door was unlocked. All that and now he's a cross dresser.
