Title: My First Lews
Post by: FinsnFur on May 01, 2019, 09:51:06 PM
This was actually on my bucket list. I hope that doesn't mean I'm going to die soon but I always told myself I was going to own a Lew's baitcaster before I pass on.
Well that day finally came.

While it might seem a bit petty to some, this thing is a priceless jewel to me. I absolutely love the way she feels and operates.
I mounted her up tonight and cast her around the yard a few times. I can't believe how freaking smooth she casts.
The line just shoots out of her like a sunflower hull being spewed from your lips with that tongue, lip, blow pachewwwww sound. LOL

I bought it from tackle warehouse and I was on Lews website tonight looking at all their stuff. It was then I realized that this is the cheapest baitcaster they make. LOL. The most expensive one was $350. Holy balls. This one was only $80 but it's perfect. And it's my first Lews so leave me alone. [emoji23]

Cant wait to get this gem out on the water.

There is nothing wrong with spending a little money on something that you love to do, in fact it's not the wrong thing to do it's the right thing to do!  :yoyo:

I don't think $80.00 is high for a reel. I've got some Abu 6500s I paid more for.
Enjoy it! you can't take your money with you when you die.

I swapped to Lews reels last season on some of my gear. Those are super smooth reels. Accuracy of your cast will go up tremendously or at least it did for me. When you get it set right, you can cast it and never put your finger on the spool with no backlash. Great reels!!

Looks great to me and as for the price - you are worth it.

Thats piscatorial poetry!

Ya did good Jim, life is to short to be seen with a ugly gal, ugly rifle or ugly reel.  Enjoy life.

Considering some people blow $500 and more on an e-caller. That sounds purty reasonable to me.  And it will last longer than that e-caller too.

Jim,

There’s just some things ya don’t skip on, fishing gear is one.

The other thing is treating yourself on occasion in life. We all just can’t work and pay taxes.  :laf:

Very nice addition indeed.

Good for you Jim! I'd like every reel to be left retrieve. Thats a darn fine lookin reel & I expect there will be a few lunkers in the yak with it!!

Got my 1st Lews bait caster about a month ago. Left hand retrieve. Love it!! Had ONE backlash and it was totally my fault. I just figured those loose loops on the spool would release with an easy cast. Wrong answer!! Other wise not 1 backlash since & I've used that damn thing most of the time! Then I picked up a Lews 200S I think it is. It's a spinner!! Butter smooth and freakin fast!! I'm getting better with the slower retrieve tho. Next up is a Lews in Ultralight!! I can't wait to get that one!!

BTW JIM,,,,, this is all your fault!! Thank You!!
