I was watching a CFL Eastern semi-final when the phone rang.  My best bud calling to tell me to get over to his place and have a look.  When I got in the truck my phone that had been on the seat beeped, I looked and had missed 9 call's, you guessed it I missd the whole shoot and kaboodle.  1 mile west of my house these two had managed to lock up and my bud's kid found them.

Those are cool and make real cool Europian mounts. Most folks up here get them bleached out and then hang them from the ceiling, just as if they were locking up right there.

Ya oughta see a couple of 60 inch moose locked up like that!

NNNNice!

Were the deer still alive when your buddy found them?
Wondering if the hind end was ate up on either of them at all, with all the coyotes you been showing us.

Yes Jim one was eaten a bit and the other had tooth mark's on it as well.  Two year's ago in December I came across two that were stuck together.  One in the 180+ category and a smaller 140 that were still alive.  They could run side by side and when they came to a fence the big one jumped it then pulled the little guy over.  I watched them until dark and called my buddy the CO who went up in the morning with me for a look see.  He figured he'd shoot a horn off with his shotgun to set them free if they were still locked.  We walked out in the tall grass to where they were and as he got closer they jumped up and swung around knocking  the CO over and then ran 2 miles over 4 fences to the big bush.  I spent a lot of time looking for them but never found them again.

That would be interesting.
I can't imagine what goes through their mind when they are locked like that, done fighting and finally realize they are in big trouble.
Ya think they ever realize it?

I don't believe that deer can rationalize anything.  I think they live for the moment otherwise they'd be a little higher on the food chain.  Also they'd quit racing us to a certain spot on the highway.
