This is one of my large open reed distress calls.  This is the last of my ABW stock and it will be awhile before I get more.

I like that. The way the grain is almost hidden by how dark it is.
Don't bring shame to our sport.

He died for dipshits too.

Thank you!  I had to take about 100 photos trying to get that to show  :doh2:

I like the finish. Looks like it's protected behind 25 years of turtle wax :sneer:

Blackwood is a pain to photograph.  Right now mine is pretty easy, since it is in sticks.  When you want to have some fun, turn some Ebony.  I will let you give it a try and not 'poison the well' with my views of turning it.

I have turned Macassar Ebony..... I curse myself every time but the end product keeps me coming back lol.  That stuff photographs like this Blackwood.... Not well.   :madd:

I like Mac Ebony.  Nice lines that show when you turn it in your hand.  As for photographs that is a different story.

Edit:   You keep posting pictures and it is going to make me finish off a few of the bodies I have started.   Right after I finish the 30+ Post Office front banks and a couple dozen more wine stoppers.
