Well we finally got out on a decent day yesterday. Had to find a calm area so we headed out to a farm with the rimfires & shot a couple around the old barns. I was able to crush these 2 with the HMR & the 17gr V-Max. Both head shots. Right hog was #1 & it was a female that had nursed a litter & the shot was about 35yds off the Caldwell Deadshot. Left hog was a nice male & he was shot at about 20yds off one knee. Both head shots.

Carnage & devestation shot.

The evening hunt proved fruitful as well. I didn't get a pic of Diane's FireBalled hog or the one I shot with the HMR. Mine was by the hole at about 100yds when I let a 17gr V-Max fly. I heard the solid thump report back to me & seen the big dust cloud so I expected to walk up & find a dead groundhog. Instead all I found was 2 tiny spots of blood. Frustrating to say the least. Hopefully more to come today!!

Good Shooting Glen and Diane.  Glad to see you are getting out.   :highclap:
I only got five all year off the back deck.  Not a single one within 50 yards of the place.. I think the word has gotten out about the Honey Holes here?   :laf:

Way to go Glen.  I saw a couple when I was driving back from MI today, but they are really hard shots at 55 mph and no firearm.

Thanks everybody. Diane laid the smack down on another one yesterday at 169yds off the Caldwell rest. She said it was a solid rest & liked the outcome.

169 yards!  Damn I can't even see that far anymore.  Tell her she needs to come out here and start on the ground squirrels out at our old place.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

:laf: :laf: @ Mr. John!! You could prolly see that far if you had MY glasses!!  :alscalls: :alscalls:   And she would really enjoy a ground squirrel shoot or 3!!

70yds +/-  coming straight at me down the hill. I was left with no choice but to defend my position.  :laf: :laf:

Sweeeet!
I been seeing quite a few around here driving to my fishing holes. The high water must be sending em scurrying further then normal.
I cant believe all that under fur that one has, wow.

Take your kids hunting and you won't have to hunt your kids!

Glen,

Good shooting.  I am so glad that you were able to keep calm under the threat of a rushing hog bearing down on your location.  Think of the devastation that those teeth would have done had it made it to your location.

Jerry

Diane nearly suffered a severe perimeter breach herself!! Luckily she had the 17M2 with her & was able to stop the threat @ 8yds!!

If the two of you would have been at Little Big Horn, the outcome would have been MUCH different.
