Went out tonight to practice and on the first shot BAM!! Looked at the bow and found the string and cable had come off the bow. The arrow had fallen well short of the target. After finding the arrow I realized the nock had broken. I just put a new string and cable on it a few months ago.  :doh2: Now I've gotta take it back to the shop two weeks before the season opens and get the string put back on and pray nothing else goes wrong. Wish I had a bow press. I don't know if it has anything to do with it but it was a lumenock. I can't believe the nock failed on it's own. Must have slapped it with another arrow at some point.

I dont know nothing about bows, but that sounded dangerous.
Speaking of dangerous, do you have an automatic garage door opener?
You can close the garage door partially down on your bow to compress it and change the string yourself, cant ya? :laf:

This does work really well, but if you don't have access to the garage door opener you can always just put one end of the bow in the grill of your vehicle and the other against any hard surface and then slowly pull forward.  I have heard it works as well as the garage door opener.

Reading Jim's and Jerry's response I got to think they have spent some time in the South at one point in time?

:alscalls:  For some reason neither of those solutions came to mind. I must not be creative enough to think of such things. Maybe you guys could do a youtube video?  :laf:

I did get the bow put back together. I called Bop and told him what happened. He had me bring the bow over to his house. I looked around and didn't see a bow press.  Now you guys ain't gonna believe it but Bop put that bow between his knees and in Thighmaster fashion compressed the limbs.  :shock2: Shot it about 20 times tonight without a problem.

I wouldn't ever dought Bops strength but what has me baffled is, how do ya get a 32" bow between the legs of a guy with a 20" inseem?  :alscalls:
