A lot of the time the problem is with United Package Smashers.    They've left my packages at the wrong address more than once.  I get a email saying delivered, I go to check and no package.  I search the neighborhood and find it a block away.     :argh:

Inquiring Minds (aka snoopy people) want to know.  Has this arrived?

Aint seen it yet :argh:

Laying in bed last night reading emails on the phone getting ready to go to sleep and thought I'd check the package status again lol. I have no idea why.
Anyway...I decided to send a nasty email and see where it got me, but the Customer Service link lead me to a chat window.
I figured heck yah I'm layin in bed in my Bermudas at 11:00 at night why not chat with some broken English Asian woman for a while.
When I clicked it was like, ok you want to chat? Is it about this?...and it showed a picture of the reel I ordered. I said out loud, "as a matter of fact it is, howd you guess?". LOL It was kinda slick actually. The chat thing, not my Bermudas.

Anyway...when "Donna Joan" came on I told her about the order not showing up and the track link is STILL telling me that it's still going to make it by 8 pm yesterday. Then I told her I took the tracking code right to USPS site and ran it and it came back is invalid. (which it did) I said that seems kinda odd to me.

She says I need you to understand that sometimes things get stuck in transit and it's beyond our control. Your tracking code works but it shows no movement since the 23rd.

I said the tracking code dont really work, I took it to the USPS site remember and it is a USPS tracking code. The information on your site that shows this progress bar when viewing the tracking code is pretty much a static image at this point. And since the code is invalid with USPS it makes me wonder why you even have this tracking progress gizmo on the site. I honestly believe that it's nothing more then a timed animation set to run the duration of the EXPECTED delivery time, and then finally peak at "arrived" when the package is scanned at the local post office, because there is absolutely nothing in between.
I dont know how you checked it and had it show no movement since the 23rd but I would love to know because this silly animation on the site shows nothing close to that kind of information.

She apologized and asked if I'd be willing to check back on April 1st to make sure that the package didnt get over looked at some loading point. In hopes that it would get back into transit and arrive by then.

I said we both know thats probably not going to happen. It probably got stolen. So maybe it would easier for you to issue me a refund so I can make the purchase elsewhere.

She says how about if I place a second order tonight for you and expedite the shipping?

I said well I couldn't really complain about that.

She says ok, if you'd like to do that I can guarantee arrival by Friday the 31st.

I said ok lets try it.

She says but if the other one shows up you have to promise to send it back.

I said absolutely Donna! :innocentwhistle:

Anyway...that was last night and I got the shipping notice a couple hours ago. I guess we'll see. :madd:

Life was a lot simpler when there was no Internet and you went down to the local store in town to buy all your groceries and fishing gear .

Very cool. But the crank is on the wrong side

:alscalls: :alscalls:  @ that damn music you've been using!!!!

I cast right handed & reel left handed. But that's just me. Saves me from casting right handed then switching the rod to my left hand to crank it back in. Once I became proficient at this method I was able to get on the average an extra 10 - 12 casts in per day.

When the next one comes (the one that is then coming to me) do you think I could put the handle in the middle?  That way I could use either hand.   ;yes;

Jerry

Im with you HaMeR. A LOT of people do the ole switcheroo. I cant even imagine that being efficient. A lot of pros do it too.
Throw with the right, crank with the left...I'm pretty sure thats what God had in mind here too lol Otherwise he woulda put the reel in the middle like Jerry says.  :laf:

Very interesting.

Me too.  I cast right and reel left.  Much quicker and more efficient.  In shallow water the instant direct line control of the lure can keep you from snagging and sometimes I want instant control and movement of the lure.  No switching hands between cast and retrieve.   I have always done some things left handed such as my early archery.  I didn't even know it till a friend told me that my fly reel was set up with the handle on the wrong side for a right hander.  Hey, it works.

The only time I right hand crank when fishing is on big saltwater reels with big heavy fish, and then I have more strength and don't get as tired on long fights with big fish.  I can fish either way so do fine when a guest using right handed tackle.

I keep the rod in my left but use both hands to cast. Normally i grab the butt with my right and reel with my left. On a spinning reel im the opposite to me. Feels more natural.

I'm right hand dominant & feel my reflexes are better on that side. Thus a quicker hook set right handed. Just switching the rod from hand to hand sure gets tiring for me quickly.

Let us know how that center cranker works out for ya Jerry!! Might have to be a worm drive.  :eyebrownod: :eyebrownod:
