Title: Large Howler (Auction closed)
Post by: Rich on August 18, 2008, 10:37:16 AM
I have spent several hours in building and tuning this beauty. The cow horn was too crooked out at the point to suit me, and I wanted this howler to be a one piece unit. I sawed the tip off about four inches  up, just like I would if I intended to install a delrin mouthpiece.  I then made a mouthpiece out of the horn tip that I had cut off, and inserted it into the horn. Front of mouthpiece extends about 3/4" or so up inside the horn, and is epoxied firmly in place. The finished howler is 11&1/4" in length when measured in a straight line, and front of the bell is about 2&3/4" wide. Once a lanyard is installed, this howler will appear seamless.
