Google changed their privacy policy today so I am looking for an alternative to Google's Gmail for email purposes.   I've tried Hotmail and Yahoo mail in the past and don't like them.   There's got to be an email service somewhere that protects privacy.

What email service do you guys use and why?

Semp, I have used Yahoo Mail Plus for over 15 years with no problems.  There is a world of difference between the free version and Mail Plus.

What did they change on the privacy policy? They been talking about if for weeks but all I could find was the same thing they been doing for years, but now they made it public knowledge that they are doing it.
They've been profiling their users for years.

I'm pretty sure all free webmails have to collect personal info to cover their butts. But again it's been happening for years, and if they didnt, and you were sending bombs threats or something, they'd get pinched for aiding and embedding or.....

The only suggestion I would have would be to buy a domain name from Enom, Tucows, etc, and set up your own mail but they'll most likely have the same privacy policy too.

Did you check your ISP? Actually I'd bet they have the same policy.

My ISP has a mail service but I don't trust it or them.

Have you ever heard of Hush Mail or Zoho mail?

I haven't decided yet.  Gmail is super convenient but one has to live with a snoopy Big Brother.   Hush Mail is great in that it encrypts email *IF* the recipient is on Hush Mail too.  But at least they don't rummage through your unencrypted mail.

Zoho Mail seems to be OK and I have read some good reviews about it.

So...........I don't know yet.     :wo:

You could get something anonymous. Use a fake name and addy if they ask for it.
Spammers do it everyday.
