Never had a nibble, this morning.  We got up to mid 30's yesterday and it's suppose to be 8 to 10 degrees warmer today with a chance of rain, I thought It'd be a good morning to yank some through the ice. Not!

All I got was some Frozen Tundra pics for you Mason Dixon lovers :eyebrow:

Ah.....that brings back bad memories of home. Enjoyed the ice fishing, just hated the snow and cold.  :rolleye:

Thanks for sharing with us Jimbo.

Looks like fun, I've never seen that much ice.

I'll feel for ya if you used a hand auger,  Been years since I've been out on the ice for fishing.

Looks like you're jiggin, you try live bait ?

That a bobber ?

Ice fishing???  I always thought those people out there on the ice were nuts!!!  That pretty much confirms that theory! :laf: :roflmao:  :laf:

One had a bobber on one and one had a spring tip indicator.
This section of the river is so oxygen starved in the winter that live bait like minnows usually spook em cause they are so dormant.

I had a micro thin redworm on one. He slowly twisted and curled down there on the hook. I know I would ate it
Had a wax worm (fly grub) on the other.

Probably to early yet. Once the ice thins down and is melting, it forces oxygen into the water from the air in the ice...and the pan fish literally get drunk off it.

i too thought it was nuts to stand out on the ice freezing to death when i could be doing better things. then one year i tried fishing thru that hole in the ice; cant get enough of it now. nothing tasts better than a mess of panfish cought thru the ice and as i learn its the challenge.
