IS there any interest in a fishing contest this year? I would be this year, as I have a few more extra places to go this year.  :eyebrow:

Would anyone be saltwater fishing?
I'd like to change things up a little from last years, which was more a tonnage tournament. But if anyone is saltwater fishing we'll have to concoct a little more sophisticated plan

Ok, well what I was thinking was going with a minimum length on different species to avoid a saltwater contestant from walking with it all, or from folks entering their whole minnow bucket.

Something like all panfish must be 6" or more
Bass all species must be 14 or more
Northern pike must be 32'' or more
Rough fish, carp, paddle, cat, bowfin, etc must be ...what??
Saltwater fish must be ...what?

Help me out here and we'll get this thing launched.

I like it Jim........cuz a few trips like my last one and I would be hard to beat.  :eyebrow:

I would say for the rough, cats, and carp, somethin like 20"

Saltwater, don't have a clue.

Set catagories like fresh water,  salt water,  game fish,  non game fish, best story, best photo that kind of stuff...
I hope I'm helping.

Well....we got to remember all types of fish. A good example is Brad will be showing off some 40" paddle fish here before too long :eyebrownod: ...in freshwater

I'm in. I thought the overall inches last year worked OK.  The minimum sizes sounds OK too. What would you do, count the inches above the size limit for that fish? Something like a 9" panfish would count for 3" above the minumim? And then go with the total inches above the size limits of all fish for the winner?

I was thinking we'd allow the whole length of the fish since a weight would be hard to go with over the internet. And any fish above the minimum size for that group would qualify.
