I can't take much credit, I know my limitations. I got him started with basic obedience but when I plateaued, I sent him back to the breeder/trainer to finish. After duck season was over, I started with a little more advanced retrieving. Again, I got to the point where I didn't know what I was doing so back to the trainer for a while. The trainer also has resources that are way too expensive for a one dog owner to justify purchasing.

I'm anxious to take him hunting next week. He done better than I expected when he was 11 months old. Now at 21 months, I think he'll make a great hunting partner.
