What gun, What caliber, what knife, and all the other what's

Drives me crazy every time some one asks what gun to buy and doesn't give you a budget or what they want to shoot with it. Same with a knife and other hunting gear.

Never had one of those Know nothings ask what woman to marry or even sleep with, what truck to buy and if the chunk of land they would like to buy should be bought. So why ask about a gun.
