Title: Post review
Post by: HaMeR on January 06, 2011, 09:40:32 AM
Twice this AM I hit the post tab & each time hte message came up asking if I wanted to review my post because another post had been made while I was typing my post. But I couldn't find any posts that I hadn't already read. I tried the Show Unread Posts tab & it came up blank. Kinda like me right now.

Maybe it's a timing issue of some sort?

That IZ odd
I'm wondering if someone was replying and then changed their mind.
No because it wouldn't be considered a new reply until they actually replied. :wo:

Wierd. Let me know if it keeps doing it...or if anyone else has it happen.

OK. It didn't do it on the spy board you have setup right now. But then again I was the only one over there.  :laf:  :laf:

The same thing happened to me I think it was day before yesterday.  I had clicked back onto the forum part way through composing or more likely during my preview, and then back to my post (can't remember the exact sequence).   I assumed the alert that someone else had posted was triggered by my own new post.

Once in awhile, electrons do strange things, almost as strange as humans.  :wo:

I had noticed it once before do this but I didn't put much thought into it. At the time it was an evening with several people on board & I could have missed a post. It was purdy quiet this AM when I had the "glitch".   I'm sure it's nothing but it did seem strange to me. Out of all the boards I go to this one & 3 others are the best maintained boards on the net for me.

While I am not sure, it might be the ghost of Christmas past.

Edit:  or maybe the ghost of Christmas present.

Just did it again. I posted at 10:08 in the Members Forum & the nearest post was 10:02 in the Mod Forum by me. According to the Last Post column on the Forums page.

Maybe it was Al?  :wo:
He came in posted  :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: Then realized his mistake & deleted his post before Semp had a chance to quote it & so there wasn't any post after all when you posted yours, but being that he, Al, had posted the system was correct in saying that someone had actually posted, although you wouldn't have had anything to see because it was deleted, er sumpin like dat?

I seen it when I just made my last post. It told me there were two new messages since I started mine, and I posted anyway....and it was right, there were two two messages ahead of me.

That never happens you know. How many times do you take the car to the mechanic & it NEVER makes the noise you're complaining about.  :laf: :laf:

I just noticed that you don't have to go through the "answer the email" routine when you change your profile.   That's neat.

Only if you change your email address. And thats to make sure you change it to a legitimate one.

Some people use a real email to join, knowing that the system will mail them login info. But then they log in and change it to a bogus address so that they cannot be recognized.
Trouble makers, and that helps reduce them.

In the Predator hunting forum, what happened to the info stickies that used to be at the top of the page?

I've actually got that saved here so that when this software goes live I can add the toys back in that allowed me to create THAT, the Bow Hunt Contest banner, the Maps, etc.

I could paste it into a thread for now and lock it in the Predator Hunting forum....if thats something that people would like for now, or as an alternative.

I don't want to add any more work to your plate, Jim.   If you are going to post them up later that is cool.

While I was thinking about coyote hunting conditions, I looked to see if any info had previously been posted about it before I started that thread on the "ideal coyote hunting day".   That is when I realized the stickies were gone.

It wouldnt be much work to convert it to a post for now. I'll make a note to set down and do that a bit later today.

Plus I can always pull it once were able to put it back in the header of that forum.
