I'm getting antsy...even though the waters way to cold to use it up here
I havent heard a thing from Cabelas or even Emotion Kayaks as to whether or not the Kayak has shipped, got canceled, confirmed, or the plant blew up.
Cabala's absolutely will not let me have it shipped to them even though I bought it from them. MUST be drop shipped elsewhere. What in the f..
Today I noticed Cabelas now has one of these models in their kayak rack  What the hell just happened? Is that mine? LOL!
I wrote Emotion Kayaks a letter since they are the one shipping it and was told, "it can take between 3-5 days to process before it ships out. You will be contacted by the trucking company when they are ready to deliver your order. If you have any other questions, please let us know."
3 to 5 days???

Dunno what to say but that is very different from what I'd expect. I buy stuff from Cabela's fairly often that is shipped to the nearest store where I pick it up. Never bought a kayak there but got my digital smoker that way. I.e. quite a bulky item.
I don't know Jim. But a lot of kayak companies only ship out 1 day each week. I guess they do that to wait and see if they have a truckload. This last kayak I bought did that. I ordered it on a Monday and they didn't ship it out till Friday.
I guess that kinda makes sense
Gives the trucker a good couple days of fishing, before he delivers it to you Jim. :laf:
They may be trying to keep you from catching newmony so it's possible you should be thanking them. :wo:
Jim,
I just wanted to let you know that you gave them my address rather than your address for shipping. I like it and will have it all scratched up so you won't feel bad when you get it in a year or two.
Jerry
You guys arent helping. :nono: I thought for sure I woulda heard something by the time I got home tonight to check my emails. Nope. :sarcas3:
Well since Jerry let the cat outta the bag Jim I suppose I should fess up here to ya.
It was all Jerry's idea man!! I told him it was a bad idea but he said you would get over it!! I knew better so I only used it for 2 of my 3 days that Jerry said I should use it for. Something about making sure it didn't leak & that it would be big enough for you. He made it sound like you would look like a hotdog on a hamburger bun or something like that he said!! Again I'm sorry & in hindsight I wish I woulda never listened to Jerry!! :noway: :noway:
Another free tip: if you ever get your (used) kayak from these helpful fellows who are breaking it in for you, take along some scotch tape to patch holes...
 Packing tape won't work??
:laf: :laf:
Jim is going to need duck tape after I hit some of the rocks around here.
Jerry
I thought it took longer to paint them pink![emoji136] Jim that just gives you more time to have the ford taking down to Macco for a barbie jeep paint job.

Glen..hamburger in a hotdog bun? Really? :shock2:

Just go trim those toenails! Remember, if side cutters don't work, you can always chew them off. :puke:

Jim, I would like to thank you for the use of the corporate kayak but it is too early in the year. The ponds are still froze over here and while the river is open, the current is just to fast. I use two 15 lb anchors in my 14 ft boat. I will be forwarding it to someone farther south as soon as possible. Thank you again.
:alscalls: :alscalls: :alscalls:
The creeks are perfect here Art. And I have a little vacation time so send it this way. With the direction of the stream flows around here I belive I can take it about three quarters the way to Ed. If someone could pick it up from there then When he gets it maybe he can install an achor system, or not.
No kayak yet? Jim might have fallen victim to the 'ol kayak scam. It is sort of like the Nigerian you-won-$19million-now-send-me-your-bank-info letter but they do it with kayaks for the cheese heads in Wisc. land. :laf:

I never thought of that! :doh2: You guys will have to send it back when you are done with it.
They said they discontinued the kayak so they sent me a table of greater or equal value.
I think I'd rather have my money back than a list of what they think you need to choose from.

WTG you lucky dog! You scored big time! Much safer, less risk of drowning and I'll bet it is more comfortable to sit at the table than in the kayak.
So that is an emotion kayak, does that mean it turns red when you're angry, and turns blue if you're sad, kind of like one of the old mood rings? :innocentwhistle:
So you picked one that no one buys so the stopped making it? Dam the luck! I thought I was the only one that did that.

As long as the ones you get to pick from are higher quality models I think it might be worth the past couple of week wait.
Jerry
I wonder if I can use my new pole leashes on my fork and spoon with the new table.
I was kidding by the way. They didnt call and offer to send me a table or discontinue the kayak Im waiting for. You guys were havin so much fun with me wondering where the thing was I figured I'd join in.
It's gonna show up tomorrow, I just know it is. :eyebrownod:
It HAS TOO
Had an email setting here tonight when I got home saying that ABF freight was delivering the kayak and it would be at my work address today.

This may be starting to lose it's humor.
I picked up a 240 centimeter paddle a couple weekends ago. I was going to go out in the shop and get it and hang it above the TV with a sign under it that says "someday I'll have a kayak"... like Clyde suggested LOL. But I just now got the time to do it and I don't feel like going all the way back out there LOL.
On a good note, I got a phone call today from the trucking company asking if somebody will be available to sign for it tomorrow. [emoji2]

Now what in the heck are you going to do with a body wrapped in plastic and a bunch of old tires?
That is the FIRST wheeled kayak that I have ever seen. No wonder it took so long to get there.
Jerry
Looks like a Mafia disposal to me.
They will miss that truck driver Jim.
Sent from my BLU STUDIO 5.0 C HD using Tapatalk
I sprinted through the rain to that truck when I seen it pull in. The driver gets out and says, I had a feeling you'd be happy to see me, you must be Jim :iroll:
The trucking company that picked it up from the mfg doesnt come to our area so they passed it around for a while and NM transfer ended up with it. What an ordeal.
Anyway, I was pretty excited. He offered to help me carry it out to my truck in the parking lot. I said it's too late to suck up now dude. Ok I didnt say that :laf:
I wont get much time to caress it till this weekend since KT's on second this week and I'm playing Dad/Grampa/Mom after work picking up Sydney at the babysitters. I did manage to get it into the shop and get the cocoon cut off it before I picked up the grand-baby though.
It's far from a Hobie but I'm confident it's going to do what I want it to do just fine.
Looking good there jim.
Don't forget to think minimal tackel. Less is more
Yah I got way too many things in my tackle box that I treasure to risk taking them out in the kayak right yet. :holdon:
Someone said (I think Barry) to only take a few favorite lures etc. Hell my first trip out I might take one lure and one pole and fish by the truck in case I have to refill LOL
Lash everything and put lures in floating boxes.
Jerry
FINALLY!
Looks nice. I'm still on the front end of the learning curve and can't offer much advice (I am learning a lot here though - really like the retractable dog leash idea).
Right now I wear stuff with lots of pockets. Big pockets.
And leash your rods - they go over and you don't even realize it :argh:
Dang!! They even got all the scratches covered up!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
I'm happy for you Jim!! I like when somebody gets a new toy like that!! I'm already waiting to see the 1st fish you catch from it!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
Bout time you got it. Take it out and use it once or twice before you make any modifications. You'll know more about what you'll like to do after you've had it out on the water.
Strap a 150 HP Evenrude on that bad boy and you'll be the King of the water. :innocentwhistle:
Seriously, Glad you got it. Be careful out there on it.
Dave
Nice looking boat, Jim. Even matches the snow and ice ya got up there. We want pics of the first time you flip it upside down in the water.
Setting aside all razzing for a moment, that looks like a terrific fishing kayak, and a fun toy. Relieved and glad that you got it without further hassle.
To resume our normal programming: you shoulda kept on the wrapping to protect the boat from fish slime and scratches and just cut a little hole in the top of the plastic wrap just barely big enough to sit in.

Yeah then you could just slide your tackel under the plastic and never have to worry about loosing gear.
Nice looking vessel Jim before you know it you will be pulling skiers!
Now let's see some funniest home videos and a few fish.

Life Jacketttttttttt!
Oooh shiny! :laf:
Oar Paddle
I used the wrong verbiage Jerry
Don't forget a properly fitted life jacket rated for your weight
One of those foam hunting seat cushions to sit on will help some too in the comfort. And if there's scupper holes under the seat stuff a couple of those foam golf balls in them.
How many times you been caught setting in your new kayak while it's still on the saw horses Jim?? :laf: :laf:
LMAO None!...I shut the shop door when I do that. I'm gonna do it again tonight yet :thumb2:
It's kinda fun and I'm dying to get er wet.
I spent the weekend pulling out all the screws that attach the four handles, solace door hatch and tie down anchors and replaced them with stainless machine screws and nuts and a dab of silicone. :eyebrow:
:laf: :laf: Good choice on the SS fasteners. We do that with the tree stands here too.
Stainless fasteners, washers and acorn nuts. The acorns help protect against nasty scrapes. When ya go over one never knows what you may drag against or grab for on the way over
Ya cant accidentally get at any of them Slag. They are all inside the hull.

I am glad to see that the test run is complete. You didn't roll it or even have any paddle run going up your arms. I don't think you can ask for anything better.
Jerry
Set your kayak on a roller creeper or a skateboard and you are good to go!
We should let up but this is too much bun. Tickled at how much enjoyment you will get out of that boat.
I know! I'm dying to get it in the drink. It's still in the high 20's many nights here. The river is flooding and cold right now. I was going to borrow some hip waders from my brother so I could stand in the water and get in it and try it out in one of the back sloughs I fish this weekend. But now it's suppose to be cold and rainy. So I'm going to have to set in it in the shop again a few times. :doh2:
 I woulda thunk by now it was in the living room!! :laf: :laf:
The sooner your fishing/kayak season gets here the sooner it's over Jim!! Don't wish too hard!! :nono: :nono:
We might as well drag this out since i cant use it yet.

I been with my drill sergeant for while and am now just getting caught up with this post. Jim I not sure you deserve to have them two beauties they sure are cute and that grand daughter will have you wrapped around her finger and doing things that you never thought you would do. Enjoy your "ship", kids and grandkids while you can.
The SS FnF?
Oh Jim, I should have warned you about letting kids in any watercraft. They always enjoy it and the next thing you know you no longer have one to use when you want it. I can see a second kayak in the future.
Jerry
And a 3rd!! :eyebrow: :eyebrow:

Lil gal has tractors on her hat! :yoyo: :highclap: :congrats:
Yes she does lol. Her mom is making her a cow and tractor lover. She screams when she sees cows in the fields or a tractor out the windows.
Every single time she sees a tractor out the car window, it's her very first time. She screams "TAAAAATERR and points until you acknowledge that you see it too. Even if your in the front seat in the middle of a conversation.
We have two implement dealers in the village to boot :doh2:
FINALLY! The maiden voyage.
Didn't really go anywhere. Just scratched a much needed itch and padded up an down the boat launch area.
I had to see how stable it was. Whether or not I was gonna feel comfortable with it etc.
I am more then pleased so far.
Easy to maneuver. Easy to get in AND out of. Very stable.
I'm so stocked to get out in back water sloughs and do some fishing in it. MANNNN!
