Title: Bass fishing
Post by: FinsnFur on June 27, 2006, 07:47:20 PM
The bass fishing hasn't seemed to slow down since the spawn around here.
We had a few days a week ago that were a little slow, but it was after a storm and I'm sure the cold front shook things up. But two days later...and still going...were cranking 15 -20 bass a day out of the Lilli pads on the Mississippi.
Ranging from 15" to 21" inches.

Gawd life issssss good :sneer:

The fishin is a little lite, been fishin the weeds and when they hit they hit HARD
they come right out of the water. Im usein a weedless frog over thick mats on  the mississippi.

Rick and I made a weekend of it this weekend.
Saturday was unbelievable with...I lost count,  but I feel safe in saying 25 or better bass. The smallest being around a foot long, but we only had about 3 of those, and the biggest  humpin the 15-16 inch mark. :eyebrownod:

Sunday was pretty slow...we really had to work em but ended up bringing these home.

Nice Catch,  Things around this part of Indiana have been slow lately.  The smallmouth are really hammering them, but the largemouth have gone deep and aren't very aggressive.  Most lakes around here, to catch a good Largemouth you will need to fish 12+ ft. this time of year.  Really makes fishing tough when you can't see the banks.

Nice fish there Randy. Some of the fellows were talkin and we wondered if we could get you to give a fishin lesson to our friend Jim. I mean you don't have to let him catch one of those big fish like yours, just get him one bigger than he's ever caught like maybe a 2 pounder or something. I'm sure it would mean the world to him to be able to do this. :hahaha:

Yea I tell ya, it was kinda weird looking on that counter top and seeing that snake just stretched out like he owned the place. I guess he came down the vent pipe off the roof and came through the sink drain onto the counter. First time for that for me. I am so glad it wasn't my wife who saw it. Now she is afraid to come upstairs, guess I got it all to myself . :eyebrownod:
