I am still trying to get a awenser from dave but I do know he has been wanting to get out and hunt with others a good bit. you know them video makin types they like different areas to video in.
- I'm going to try like hell.
98% sure, leaving 1% for the flu bug, & 1% for being banned from F&F for admitting that I had to ask for A kitchen pass.......
Already asked and plotting vacation days for it, $250 in dedicated envelope in gun safe saved for it so far, KITCHEN PASS OBTAINED FROM WIFE, talked sister into letting nephew off school, Jeep fixit list dwindling, and I bought A powerball ticket so we should be good. ~KT
Well ,I'm going to try to git down there ! Maybe hook up with Bill & crew and take a ride! I'm sure the weather and $ will fiquire it out fer me!
Thats a big 10-4 from the Bushmaster.
I've never met so many hunters willing to help each other out. There is no way in hell that I would miss an opportunity to take to the field with you guys.
Oh, and if by some chance the bossa man dont give me the time off.. I'll let him know where the bear shit in the buckwheat CAUSE I'M COMIN!!!!
PS How much $$$ do I need? (ballpark)
I was thinkin a 1000 bucks for me would pretty much cover it. if gas stays the price it is now and I take my truck and just me it will cost me around 350.00 just to get there and back. not to mention the other added costs. 750 miles one way and 11 1/2 hrs.
Well, Im not sure? Thats the same weekend as the shot show and it is all up in the air right now.

What are the exact dates for this years hunt? The first is getting to close to the weekend for me, I am ready to wait till the following weekend. That way everyone can hunt with center fires all week long instead of having to use the rim fires for part of the week.
The scheduled dates for the LBL get together are Feb. the 1st, 2nd and 3rd (the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Feb.)
LBL gets hunted pretty hard during it's February coyote/centerfire season. That is the primary reason why those opening dates were chosen.

Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show and Conference (SHOT) It is a trade show for lots of neat toys. Not open to general public.

Same weekend as LBL hunt.
So if me and the wee-man do get to come it's shotguns and the 22mag?? Or........................the 350 yard killing machine know as the .17 HMR. (How long has it been since that topic has been beat into the ground? :roflmao:)

No, that's why we do it in February. It's a month set aside for coyote hunters in the LBL to use centerfire.
So if it's held on the 1st-3rd we can use centerfire?
I sure wish I could, but I don't see a way. Ya'll have a barrel of fun.

I'd love to come and meet everyone face to face, hang out and do some huntin, but not sure if I'll be able to get off work for it. I started a new job a year ago in May, and after I take a couple more days off this Labor Day weekend to go back down to Texas to do a little huntin, I'll have it perty much used up. So right now I'd say I have about a 35% chance of goin. I guess that puts me somewhere between the yellow and blue. Scott
I'll make ya green for now, and as always if yours or anyone elses status changes let us know...and we'll alter the list

with dad gettin a cat permit it kinda through a wrench into the plan. we will be driving 300 plus miles a few weekends and might burn up time off. not sure but this year aint lookin to good now. no offense guys but I would rather help dad get a cat then take a trip to the lbl now. sorry.
BigB kill two birds with one stone, bring dad to the LBL with you, hunt the Tennessee side for a cat. There is certainly a lot of them over there.
You can tell Big Ben ain't been to the LBL. :laf:
So i take it that you need two state licenses if hunting both sides?? Where will everyone be? Kentucky or tennesse?
At the hunt last February I nearly ran over a cat crossing the Trace just south of Hillman Ferry campground. Yep, there are cats in LBL for sure.
Bushmaster you are correct, you have to buy a license for what ever state your planning on hunting. I have hunted both sides and called up coyotes in each state. For the last two years I have hunted the Kentucky side and will most likely hunt there this year too.
You will also need your LBL permit in addition to your state(s) licenses. Last year there were a fair number of folks hunting both sides. I got both licenses for both states last year and will probably do the same this year..... never know who might be willing to drag ya along to a stand or two.
If anyone is interested, here are the current Tennessee non-resident license fees.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These licenses do not include WMA, special season permits or the LBL hunting permit.

As for the cats! The LBL is a very good spot to call a cat! We have called a cat in every year except for last year. And several Fox as well. I been thinking about hunting the TN side this year and targeting cats. I have never hunted the TN side so it should be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, as much as I hate to say it, I am going to be a "no show". The weather is not cooperating with my knee and right now walking even a slight hill couldn't happen. I need to try to drop some pounds to see if that helps and if it doesn't it will be back in for shots that are not covered by insurance. I will have a some toys for Brent to share - a few "normals" and a GIANT.
Jerry
some people just come and lie around the fire pit, spelling is correct wayne p
Wayne, you mean lay or lie , mebbe both :eyebrownod: Jimmie
Wayne...would you be willing to provide the chili again this year if we foot any and all incurred expenses to do so? Or is it just too much to man. I'd certainly understand if you wanted a break. But I'm serious about covering your expenses if you'd like to do it.

Sorry to hear that, Jerry. I was lookin forward to meeting you. Losing the weight will help your knee for sure. But it sounds like orthoscopic surgery might be on the horizon. Been there and done that. It did make a difference for me.

How about a "donation" jar at the hunt? I'd kick in to help.
Semp
Semp,
I have had the surgery twice - the first time was a 9 inch incision - days prior to arthroscopy. Then had the arthroscopy about 10 years ago to "clean things up". The doctor said at that time that I would be a good candidate for replacement knees, but since they only last about 10 years he thought I should wait. I have had three rounds of the Synvisc and am probably due again. It helps for a while, but it is not a permanent fix.
Jerry
jim thanks for the offer but there is a fair chance i will not be there this year so dont want to make any promise i cant keep. wayne p
Not a problem Wayne, I appreciate the reply.
Brent and myself are trying to come up with a plan to provide pizza for the entire gang one evening. You others reading this, if there's anyone hunting the Kentucky side, we'd like to find a pizza joint over there that we could order a dozen pizzas from and have you bring them back to Wranglers one night.
We can pull some funds from the FnF Members Bank and provide that if we can pull it off.
:shck: :holdon: A LBL get together w/o waynep! :sad3:
This is a sad day in America! :sad2:

et me check with the Cadiz pizza amkers maybe if they will make them I'll just pick them up if all works for you guys
Thanks Shottaker! Also get an idea of what there prices are so I know how much money to bring if you dont care.
Thanks,
Brent
If WayneP doesn't show up then I will probably just turn around and go home. What would be the use? :pout:
I have worked things out so I can join you guys at the LBL. I plan to come with wv_yoter. I am really looking forward to the hunt and meeting and learning from you guys.

Other prises are Small = $11.00; Medium = $14.00 ; Large $16.50 ; Jumbo = $19.50 this is with a lot of stuff, like supreme. Kee email me a fax number and I will fax you their menu. There is no delievery that I know of in this area. Not sure there is a pizza place in Aurora. I know not what is avalible in Paris.
