That's the thing about moly...you either love it or you  hate it. There's no ...."Ahhh it's ok".

I hate it, it's a mess to work with and it makes my gun a mess.
For what some say ya gain...it just dont make it justifyable in my book.
Just my opinion

I tried it years ago and found I could live without it real quick. Sorry.

I asked the question to get honest opinions and i appreciate the feedback.I know it is a pain to clean but it is great to get 50 rounds + before barrel starts to loose accuracy.I dont bother trying to get all the moly out until end of season. After the season i give it a good scrubbin and wait until next year. Thanks for the feedback guys.

I bought a T/C Encore barrel in 22 250. I started out using Molly coated bullet,s. I cleaned the barrel using Krolls every time I shot it. The first year I shot approx 150 round,s . At the end of season one I cleaned it put it in the gun safe for the winter. When spring rolled around I got the rifle out . When I looked through the bore it was rusty. I called T/C they had no clue. The rust did clean out easy but it never should have been there. Season two was a repeat of season one. I started posting on some of the gun web sites stating my problem,s. It turned out the Moly Lube and condensation resulted in sulfuric acid. The solution I chose was to stop usins the Moly. I could have installed a light bulb heater in my gun safe. I hope this help,s you.    Tuck

Thanks for the feedback Tuck.I have heard of that in the past but never had it happen to me before.I have found that if you keep a thin coat of gun oil in the barrel it will not happen.I use kleen boar gun conditioner and it seems to work verry well. Thanks again for the reply.
