LOL...Nope its just a small snap together case that will protect the call from damage so you can carry it in your pocket.

Are the Al Greenies new or used??

:laf: :laf:

Seriously now.

Brent-- In your experience how long do the latex turkey calls last??  I was told to just keep them out of the sunlight in a cool place & they should last 3-5 years depending on the amount of use. I call sparingly from set up locations as opposed to run & gun locating style. If I do that I always use my box call. I've found the 3 reeds sound good but use more air. Just my observation here. Are  the 4 reeders tougher to use?? Would they be even raspier?? Thanks.

I seen it this AM too but didn't want Brent to get mad at me for posting it in his Sale thread. If he minds I'll remove it. It's all in jest.

The rest of the post is for real tho.

LOL....You all done miss much! Figured I better fix that screw up....lol :roflmao: And they are new! Used ones are to hard to keep in the press and stick together something awful! :roflmao:

If you keep them out of the sun light and in the frig when you are not using them then they can last a couple years, depending on use. Also making sure they are dry before you put them in the frig and keeping spacers in between the reeds helps as well. I keep mine in one of those little plastic tackle boxes with the dividers, and drill air holes in each section.

One call wont get me threw a season here, most of the time it takes 2-3 per season. But I hunt every day for 8 weeks strait or more if I travel to more than just 3 states. Plus I blow my calls all year round.

The four reed latex call will take more air and be a bit more raspy. Good call for cutting, and fly down cackles. And has good range as well.

I use a Prophylactic 3 reed split "V" myself, have for years. Prophylactic gives some of the best yelps of any reed material out on the market. It breaks and rolls over allot easier than latex and has more control. When I was calling in competition Prophylactic is all I used. It takes less air to blow and that's what gives most callers trouble when changing from latex to Prophylactic, but so much more control though.

Which lasts longer then?? The latex??

For me the Latex last longer. And allot of it depends on how you blow a call.

Brent

I tried out that Greeny prophylatic call I got from ya down at the LBL and it sounds great!  Easier to blow than my other mouth calls and sounds raspier to me.  I think ya got a winner there!

I felt better when ya told me you didn't use recycled material in the call.   :roflmao:   :roflmao:

HaMeR,

I sold everyone I took down to the lbl with me. But the good news is they are up on the website now.

Vic,

The old yeller is real raspy and cutts good, and you can hammer it if you want and not worry about it breaking over on the sound. Good volume as well.

Glen,

Trimming them is no problem and will not affect the sound. Most packages off the shelf will tell ya to do that anyways. I once picked up a youth model call, and it is my favorite, no trimming involved in that one.
