The race went well. It had a lot more hills than I was used to running with. The beginning of the race was down hill, so I started off pretty fast and finished the first mile around 8 minutes. After about the second mile, I told my brother that I needed to slow up the pace. We still finished the second mile pretty fast. The third mile was mostly uphill, so it was pretty tough. The ending was a huge hill. Once I got to the last 100 yards, I sprinted all the way in to finish at 29 flat.

Jerry
WTG Joe!!! :thumb2: Proud of ya!
I was going to take up running again to loose weight. However, on the first hill I came too I decided to give it a good effert & leaned into the hill. Well my belly already was doing more flops & wiggles than Pam Anderson on Bay Watch. LSS - I miss stepped & my belly collided w/ my face. If that wasn't embrassing enough my belly button latched onto my forehead like a suction cup & by the time I freed myself I had a hickie on my forehead. :doh2:
Ya know it's been several years since I've even worn a pair sneakers. :rolleye:
:thumb2: :yahoo: WTG brother !!!!! Congrats :congrats: :highclap:

Way to go...How did ya place? 29 minutes doesn't seem to awfully bad. It would surely dust whatever I could do.
I tried running but I get shin splints that just don't stop. I've taken to hiking and kayaking to keep in better shape these days. I need to get more hiking under my belt though. :innocentwhistle: On the other hand I paddled about 4 miles with my daughter today. I think she is hooked
Steve
