I have this farm i hunt groundhogs on and i"m just starting to try calling coyotes. It has a very steep ridge on it that the bottom 2/3 is very thick brush and the top 1/3 is hardwood. Will I be able to call the coyotes up to the hardwood? there is plenty of coyotes there because I have killed 5 while chuck hunting. there is about 50 acres of this.

I dont see why not. Jay Nistetter can call them to a restaurant parking lot while hiding under a street light.
The toughest part may be getting to the top undetected.

The approach would be important as well as the wind...if it aint right......dont hunt.

Like Mr. Jim said "I don't see why not".
Al hit it pretty well. Watch the wind currents closely. Thermal inversions, that create swirling down hill breezes, can cause major problems when setting up on ridges.

That is the reason I wanted to hunt the top. I can get there without gettihg a lot better and a better chance with the wind.Thanks guys.

"I" have never been to successful in getting them to come up-hill.  Maybe if you could get about a third of the way down from the top and call you may draw one out of the thick stuff to check things out.
