Took a youngster out for youth hunt.........

Took my buddy Nick and his son on a youth doe hunt........
He seen some deer and really was not interested in shooting one.......But he would not stop talking about the ride in...

I slid off the road and got a little high centered........told him to push.....GRIN






We pulled it over away from the bank to keep from ripping the side off the truck on a tree stump...then just kept going.....we hogged out some bigger holes up the road just for fun and then I let him ride my 4 wheeler through em again....
I told him after deer season we need to go coyote hunting.....


Seems the highlight of his day was ridding around in the mud with the old Dodge and the 4 wheeler and he said he wants to go again soon......I heard he was out again today with his dad......I think we started something with this one...

If ya look at the tracks in front of the truck......I could make it fine......But there are some small tree stumps sticking off that bank that was trying to act like a can opener on the side of the truck.....   and I could not get it out of the ditch before hitting one.....I am just glad it was not a FORD or I would still be there.....

We were on our way purty quick and drove the rest of it fine and all the way back just fine.....we were playing rough is all and pretty much bounced into the ditch....   (Air Bags  )

I been stuck a LOT worse......this one was fun as the youngun had never been......

The part of this story I like the best is the young'un enjoying being stuck .  Remember fella's that kids ain't just interested in killing and it's the rest of the story that attracts their attention .  Most often you don't need to get anything to have a successful hunt with a kid as long as there is something to divert their thoughts from the mundane.

Nope......I had to go haul some stuff to the truck to get unstuck....and I let him drive the bike....


Thanks Barry......Thats exactly my point......this young man probably could have killed a deer if he wanted....but he was happy just being out doing something....thats top notch in my book.
