I posted this back in 2008.   The events under Obama tell me we are getting closer to the end......


"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess (money benefits)  from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been about 200 years."

The above quote has been attributed to Alexander Fraser Tytler.  A Scotsman who lived in the late 1700's.

Having a public school education I never understood the difference between a Democracy & a Republic. The other day I received this & it is very good, lengthy, but worth your time.

Excellent video, VV.     I believe the vast majority of people do not understand the difference between a Democracy and a Republic.   Thanks for posting that link. 

No where in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution does it say we are a Democracy.  It says we are a Republic!
