Trying to decide if I want to go deer hunting this year. Havent gone in many many years due to lack of interest and idiots in the woods.

Rick223 and I did some scouting today while I tried to make up my mind.

So, did you and Rick go out and do a little tree rubbing to get in the mood for deer hunting?

With me its my home made jerky calling. A couple of big fat does would work real good.  And I do have a new rub recipe I would like to try on the grill too. Jimmie

I'm thinkin' backstrap...cubed, marinated in honey and garlic, on the grill, basted in butter. Or a roast with a garlic herb rub. Or some summer sausage smoked with sugar maple or hickory, or sassafras. Or some ground in a dutch oven full of chili with corbread.
