Bison horn Howler

This horn has some really odd shape to it after 3 evenings of working with it this is what I ended up with

looks great . I have  horns i got from a local farmer . Can u tell me how u got the finish on it . wanna work mine at some point, like what grit paper u use and so on

I get mine already polished but I always end up sanding spots on them up to 400 grit and then use 0000 steel wool then spray them with a clear coat
This is only my 4th one I have ever messed with a while back I put some elk antler on where I cut the tip off and put closed reed in them

Nice looking howler and you have done a nice job finishing it off.  Be thankful that you got the horn already sanded.  I bought a couple of buffalo horns years ago for powder horns and after taking a look at them sent them back.  They looked like a pine cone with all the layers lifted.  Shows how much I knew at the time - they looked just like the ones that were on walking buffalo.
