snafu

Female coyote laying by a cleaned out den hole. Jaunary 16th. I watched her mate clean this hole out a month earlier. They abandoned it 6 wks later, after it was cleaned out. What I have concluded(for the time being anyway). Is a female picks her den site, then initiates the dig. Then the male takes over the major digging.

One paused for a pic amongst the foothills.

Never laid eyes on the coyote that left this print. But he must be a brute in size. Track is 3 1/4" long. It was paired-up with an another coyote.

I think I know of another species where the female decides what should be done and the male does it.   :innocentwhistle:    Nice images.
