My daughter got an email from a lady she knows from a forum she is on. Her brother was attacked it his tent by a cougar, he is a biology professor and an outdoorsman. The authorities took him to the hospital in Huntchinson where he recieved 65 stiches, they then took him to a motel and left him. His family came to get him and found him in poor shape from dehydration and took him back the the hostpital where he remaines.

Now here is the rub, DNR says it was not a cougar but a bobcat. He says it was a cougar, and several more wittnesses confirmed that. Apparently they are afraid of scaring of the tourists. I will post the link to the news article, where it states that he was treated and released with minor injurys. I think that 65 stiches is a little more than minor injuries. I report you decide.

Sounds like the DNR here.
We dont have any wolves, despite the confirmed sightings, but if you harvest any that fit this description  :readthis:, you get a federal pinch.  :iroll:

If it was a BobCat or a Couger I wonder how he fought it off,  it would be an interesting story to see all the details.?

Once it figured out what he was I suppose it took off. There was a groupe of people there he wasn't by himself.

But if he was attacked "IN" his tent  wouldnt the Cougar / Bobcat known there was a human in there plus there were other humans right there with him wasn't there? Maybe that cat didn't CARE and I would think that cat MIGHT be seen again by a human real soon :shck:,and then again I DON'T know JACK about Bobcats OR Cougars
You think the DNR would listen to a professor AND the eye witness's but if the DNR up there is like Ohio's DNR they are a day late and a dollar short  :doh2:

You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.
