Meat is close to home

Went to town today fore coke and smokes. Got 1/4 mile from my yard and ther were three of these standing out in the pasture grazing on wolf willow.

They were all looking good and no hair loss or turning white due to ticks yet.

Whats the deal up there Barry? Can you take those any time on your own land? Special seasons or ??????

I would give an arm or leg to know that I could peer out a window an spot a harvest like that.
I'd even spring for a larger freezer if the odds were good enough

Jim they are on a draw system here. 20 years ago there was no moose or elk around here but now we have more moose than you can imagine. My grand father told me there was no deer here when he came in 1908 and they came in slowly as the cut up land stopped the prairie fires and the bush got a toe hold. I was brought up at my daddy's knee and I know what he'd of done if he needed meat so if I ever "need" meat they are close.

Thanks fellas. Its like that all winter here. Those were taken last week whe I had a cow and two yearling bulls around, and they visit just about evry day or so. Heck, Wyatt opened the door for school and had one almost standing on the front porch.

I had just missed it with the camera, but the one where you see Kenna standing in the window looking at the moose, e had seen her and walked across the yard and stuck his nose right up to hers on the window.

If ya look at the lil bull ya can see his buttons where his antlers are starting to grow.
