that people with alot of money think they automatically deserve your respect and think that you should bow down to them for no other reason other than they're rich?

isn't it a persons character that should determine whether you respect them or not...not the size of their bank account?

Jerry's been trapping with a guy in Mississippi who evident ally has more money than God and thinks everyone should kiss his ass.
well he made some very disparaging comments about Jerry being a hillbilly etc. (even something about him being stupid)and it pissed me off so i sent the old boy an email.

he was mad because Jerry was going to check traps and there was a dusting of snow on the ground. h wanted him to stay in the house and not go.

the email is as follows..

"Jerry told me that I'll have had somewhat of a falling out. I'm not trying to intrude on ya'lls business but I would like to say one thing.

While trapping to you is a hobby its Jerry livelihood and he takes that very seriously. He goes every days he's able because if he doesn't, he makes no money for that day. Trapping is his job the same way you worked for your big company..he looks at it the same..only difference is you probably made more money working for that company than he has trapping.

That being said, he would not have went out yesterday to check traps if he seriously felt there had been any threat of an accident.

Plenty of times he's taken the day off to skin when the weather has been bad.If he opted to go run his line he did that with the conviction that the roads were safe for travel.

he's a hard worker but he would not go out on a day when it was dangerous to either himself or you.

I know him better than that and trust his judgement explicitly.

he may be "just" a hillbilly but he works hard and while he may not be polished like some city folk, has a very good ,honest man and I've never met a man with a stronger work ethic no matter their walk of life .Granted he could stand to clean up his language a bit, lol.

I understand he can be a little rough around the edges and sometime pretty blunt but you never doubt where you stand with him.

he knows what he needs to do on the line to make it work and he gives it 110% everyday.

there are very few people who can keep up with him when it comes to trapping because they don't look at it in the same light as he does,

you've never met me i know but i just wanted to tell you a few about Jerry.

I'd hate to see you guys end a friendship over something so petty."
evidentally he was so pissed at my audacity to speak o him in such away that he flew the coop.

he sent me this in response...

"Dear   Mrs.Cathy
I  appreciate your e-mail; but please understand that I do not need any lectures as to what I am doing, especially not from somebody who never met me."

to which i responded

"seemed to me like you did in this case."he told jerry that if he ever needed anything to call him as long as he didn't have to have any dealings with me. lol

best part of it is that Jerry isn't upset with me.

i didn't send the email to be a bitch i was genuinely trying to smooth things over between them.

do you think he over reacted or that i should have butted out?

pitw

Cathryn you asked so I'll tell you what I think[you get mad at me it's your fault for asking :innocentwhistle:].  My wife learned long ago that if a customer calls that she is to get his Name, number and either give my cell number or Amandas.  It's tough enough dealing with customers, contacts or anyone else I do business with, without someone else pissing them off for me[That's my job :eyebrow:].   I don't care what you think of Jerry but it sounds like you think he can handle himself, so let him and quit trying to trip him up as he has enough underbrush to cruise through without extra traps thrown in his way.

I say what I think not think what I say.

thats how i flt at first pitw, like id overstepped my boundaries even though i did have good intentions.
i apologized to Jerry but he told me it was the best thing id ever done for him, lol.
that he was gonna tell him to buzz off and not very nicely either.

this way the guys mad at me and jerry can keep from having to show his hillbilly butt, lol.

it turned out good after all.

I'd say you answered your own ? You shoudl have butted out and waited. Seems to me Jerry wil take care of bussiness when it needs taken care of.  I wouold have told the fat azz city slicker what the law says about trapping. Lines must be run daily in any state ya go to. If he is to lazy to read the regs he has no bussiness trapping and let the prick stew on that . But hey, thats just me . I doubt Jerry is much diferent when it comes to runnign his lines. Jimmie

Cathyrn, you asked so here goes.  You should butt out (there a tool for that  ) of Jerry's business.  Men fight their own battles.  I'm making the assumption that Jerry is a man.   If not, I feel sorry for both of you.

cathryn

Hes all man but it never hurts to let your man know you aint afraid to have his back when the assholes come knockin, lol.

Thanks for all ya'lls opinions.

and yes i can be a bitch when the situation calls for it and probably sometimes whenb it dont, truth be told
