My 01 Chevy runs "a little over $300/6 months."  Per the book keepers words.  :iroll:  Her 05 Monte runs her "about the same." Per her words once again.  :laf: :laf:  We also each have a life insurance policy & the house insurance all thru the same place. State Farm so that's why our car insurance is so low. Well that & I am an old fart now.  :laf: :laf:

We don't live in a mansion Jim. It's an old 2 story built in 1914 that we're remodeling. I'm re-wiring it myself so we have enough insurance on this place so that when it goes up in flames we'll not have to worry about dinner until the new trailer is set.

$300 a year is pretty cheap Jim.  I'd have to check with the boss as well to see exactly what we pay on her car and my truck.  Most all places that I know of that insure your house will cut you a little deal on the rate for your vehicles to keep all of the business.  Just wait until the kids start driving and you put them on your policy.  You will be paying about $300 every couple of months!  The best way to keep the rates down on the kids is if they have good grades.  I got a discount growing up because of that fact.  Then the next best 2 things to happen is to get married and also turn 25 years old.  Once those happen, rates go down again.

$223 a month for two fully covered and one liability.

I'm shocked that theres any states left not requiring it. Heck I was shocked Wisconsin went as long as they did.

I called Progressive back tonight, they had Geico beat by 12 or 15 bucks. A buck is a buck  , plus slightly better coverage.
This is what I ended up with;
BODILY INJURY & PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY                         $121.00
BI $100,000 EACH PERSON - $300,000 EACH ACCIDENT
PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY - $100,000 EACH ACCIDENT
UNINSURED MOTORIST                                                             $6.00
   $100,000 EACH PERSON - $300,000 EACH ACCIDENT
UNDERINSURED MOTORIST                                                              $7.00
   $100,000 EACH PERSON - $300,000 EACH ACCIDENT
                                                                                                 $134.00/6 months

I'll inevitably have to add the kids one by one as we go here, and with me being uninsured for so long and being high risk, I'm thinking once I prove myself it'll go down and then adding the kids will bring it back up...so it'll probably all even out.

The progressive guy told me they were getting flooded with Wisconsin calls due to the new law.
He also told me my driving record and history were most impressive.

Jim That isn't that bad of a rate,is that for one car
Don't believe them when they tell you as you prove yourself, because they will find a way to keep your rate right where it is or once everyone in Wis.is insured rates will go up just a bit

One vehicle, one driver yes.
I just naturally expected it to be high with no past insurance. And I figured it go down in time also once the history was created, or proven.
He didn't tell me that, I didnt even ask. I DID ask to speak with Flo, but she wasnt around.

We pay about $2,000 per year but that is for complete coverage on three vehicles and a travel trailer.  I too am suprised that we still have some states that don't required auto insurance.  We are also required to carry "uninsured motorist coverage".

THO, since you are retired military have you looked into USAA for you vehicles and home?
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

THO Game Calls

Nope, never looked into it.   All I have to do though, is mention it to my wife and she'll be on it like a duck on a June Bug.   So thank you for the tip.

Yeah, strange that NH does not require auto insurance, especially with our Welcome To America" program (5 years of welfare)

You dont have to wear a motor cycle helmet either.

Was he impressed in a good way or a bad way?  Just wondering if you are putting an obama spin on your post.  For what it is worth, I think the Dukes of Hazard had an impressive driving record.
