Joseph went out about 8:30 this morning to feed the horses and come running back in with big tears in his eyes screaming there is something wrong with Midnight and that she was laying in the stall upside down and moaning So we all ran out there to see whats wrong with her, she was colicing and had prolly been down for a few hours. We tried everything to get her up but could'nt. So I called my neighbor for help and we got her sitting up after about an hour, meanwhile my wife ran to to vet to get a shot for the horse. We tried all day to get her up with no success, I even raised her up with the skid steer and could'nt get her to stand by herself. We did every thing we knew and even called several vets to get info, most just said good luck and the others said take her Lexinton,ky for surgery but she prolly would'nt make it at this point  All we could do at that point was try to keep her comfortable and warm and hope she pulls through on her own, She passed to the Big hayfield in the sky about 9:00 tonight.  :sad3: I am not sure what to do with her now, I can't get the skidsteer over the hill to bury her because of the snow and frozen ground, and I don't want to just let her lay there and wait for the buzzards to get her or the coyotes  My neighbor suggested burning her but I dont know if I could do that :rolleye:

Dealing with the kids would be the toughest part.
But yeah, have it picked up might be the only option. Gotta be careful how I word that.

We still haven't decided how to deal with this yet,I did call a company that handles this sort of thing today and they wanted $150 to come get her and I was told that they would take her to the local dump for disposal :holdon: I told them never mind then I would take care of it, I mean hell I could take here to to dump for $15 but I think she deserves a bit better that to be tossed out like trash :rolleye: I am looking into the composting like linemansteve suggested, or Burning her like like my neighbor suggested. Still not sure, At least I have some time with the cold temps to make a decision. Right now we have her covered pretty well but I definitely have to do something tomorrow.
