Amy and i took the boys to the mall today to see santa and get pics. I had been to the dr for my sinus infection and then when to get my cell phone looked at . AS I leave the cell fon store a county police officer is pulling out of the parking lot. I catch up to hom at the next light and as we go the officer drops in behind me . Now earlier in the day Amy told me to put my seat belt on or would get a ticket.  the lights come on and I knew I wasnt speeding so was sure Amy was right. :doh2:  Pull into the grocery store and the officer shpiel starts . Give him my license and he tells me inspection is expired. I explain it is my father in laws truck I am driving due to the weather. He gives me a ticket. I drive off about 1 /4 mile and realize  what he thought was the year is the month  Shame on me for not looking . The inspection was done in oct and is good . I get home and call dispatch and he calls me and tells me he will meet me some where . so he is in the wrong and i have to go back out???. I meet him and he tells me this the 2nd time today this happened . I know law enforcement is a hard and dangerous job but keep honest out there . I waited a 1/2 hour for him to show up

Is this one of those situations where the date was printed 12/18/10 or 18/12/10 ??

I have no idea who started this or who decided it would be a nice idea, but I agree it causes more problems than anything.

Canada writes it one way and the US the opposite. Kind of like spelling colour and color in the British and US system, but it sure is tough on us who live astride the border!  It is surprising that a cop would make that mistake!!?   I am confused enough that I avoid writing dates that way unless it is a form with which number to put in which place specifically identified.  A fair number of Canadian forms have the words day/month/year (in whichever order they want) printed under the space to write.

Sorry to hear about the traffic stop.

I KNEW Barry was behind this   :doh2:

At first the dates looked strange and then I figured out the order of the date and month.  So I thought "It's a camera default setting and 'ol Barry ain't too up on geeky stuff like that so he just left it as is.  No big deal. I can tell by the background it ain't summer.  :eyebrownod:"

I'll wait a 1/2 hour to have a ticket torn up.

that a good point hammer , wish i would have caught while i was sitting there pulled over

He did make it right & was honest about his mistake. Too often we don't think the Police are honest. Sounds like you got a good one. It does suck to have to go back & have it worked out later but it came out good in the end.

I used to have a hard time with LE too. But then I seen a picture one day of a State Trooper holding a limp bloody child in his arms with a torn up car in the background & a tear rolling down his cheek. I know it was just a picture,, real crash or not I don't know,, but I realized they are human too & all that guy did was go to work to support his Family that day. And look where he ended up.
