If you guys want to really learn how to cut back, try retirement.   :eyebrownod:

Hell Johnny, I retired from the military and the only cut backs I made were running and shaving, of course I had to go find another job and go right back to working full time.  Aaahh the joys of retiring.  :nono:

The Myans said the world's gonna end 12/21/12 so I'm spending every dime I can. Probably around Oct 2012 I'm gonna quit making payments on things too so I can buy even more crap. The end should be here about the same time as the collecters. :alscalls:

I've been laid off mostly since the 1st of October. Things are real tight around here right now. But I'm squeakin by. Got a new job though starting Feb 7th. Coulda started now but I gotta get the LBL hunt in 1st. :eyebrownod:

That's the way I look at it.

I don't have to cut back to much, maybe just not driving as much cause of the price of gas?

When the economy tanks, my job seems to thrive.

A few things we've done to save a penny or two....

Thermostat is set at 66 degrees F (throw an extra blanket on the bed)

Consolidate trips to conserve gasoline

Eat out less

Quit buying rifles and hunting/outdoor gear and equipment. In fact, I've been thinning the herd as of late.

This has been pretty interesting how some are cutting back and I agree with Semp, Try retirement.  I know we don't go as much, never have ate out a lot and just pretty much have to watch what we do spend, when I was working I was in a job that was pretty much recession proof and it has taken a lot of adjusting with the way the economy has gone since retirement. I was brought up in the old school that a penny saved is a penny earned, I think Jim is smart in cutting back every way possible. Things are tough right now and could get a lot worse, you have to look out for your own sweet arse nobody is is going to.  :noway: cc
